Practise in a parent’s car with your own temporary policy.

Arrange cover around a practice session while keeping the learner’s details and policy separate.

✓ Family-car practice✓ Separate policy✓ Flexible timing

Ask the owner first

The registered keeper or owner should agree to the learner using the car. Check the vehicle is roadworthy and that the proposed driver and use meet the temporary policy requirements.

Protect the whole session

Choose a start time and duration that includes the complete practice session. Do not begin until payment is confirmed and the certificate shows active cover for the right driver and registration.

The owner’s policy is different

Temporary learner cover is intended as a separate policy, but claims and exclusions depend on the final policy wording. Review that wording before purchase.

Check before you drive

Enter accurate details, review the insurer and regulatory disclosure, and wait for active policy confirmation before driving.
